Three gospel bands will take the stage for the debut Mic Check Monday concert series on June 3 at Downtown Commons. Concerts will take place each Monday in June and July.
Opening the concert at 6:00 p.m. is Vertical Praise, an interdenominational service-oriented ministry that aims to spread the message of Christian love through music and other spiritual gifts. Vertical Praise uses its Christian influence to impact communities both locally and nationally by sowing seeds and above all expressing praise through music.
Next up at 7:00 p.m. is Awaken Worship Project, a local worship and praise team at Awaken Church on Riverside Dr. The group desires to initiate an atmosphere of receptivity to the Lord’s work in our hearts and help people improve their relationship with God and each other by freely expressing our hearts and leading others into celebrative, grateful, repentant, and intimate times of worship through Christ-Centered spiritual songs. They enjoy the gift of music that God has given them and love to share it with others.
Closing the evening at 8:00 p.m. is One Accord, a collective of young people who come together to make music and inspire young adults everywhere. With hearts to bring truth to this generation, they sing passionately of their belief grounded in the love, grace and freedom found in having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Their dream is that through the message that they bring, people everywhere would discover the very reason that they were created.
Presented by Visit Clarksville and CDE Lightband, Mic Check Monday will offer different genres of music each Monday in June and July. All concerts will begin at 6:00 p.m. when weather allows.
No food or drink will be offered on-site. Guests may bring food, but no alcohol is allowed in the park.
