Job Title: Sales & Services Manager

 

Scope

The Sales & Services Manager is a member of the sales department responsible for managing service needs for meetings, events/sports tournaments in coordination with the Sr. Director of Sales. This manager will also be responsible for assisting small groups that require meeting and/or hotel space. This position also serves as the liaison between Visit Clarksville and its partners, venues, attractions, and TN State Welcome Centers. All work will be a direct reflection of serving our mission statement.

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention & Visitors Bureau exists to positively influence tourism in the Clarksville-Montgomery County (CMC) area by promoting tourist attractions, hosting conventions and group tours, and engaging in large-scale marketing efforts. In 2015, the organization adopted the Visit Clarksville brand.

 

SCOPE

The Sales & Services Manager is a member of the sales department responsible for managing service needs for meetings, events/sports tournaments in coordination with the Sr. Director of Sales. This manager will also be responsible for assisting small groups that require meeting and/or hotel space. This position also serves as the liaison between Visit Clarksville and its partners, venues, attractions, and TN State Welcome Centers. GENERAL DUTIES

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact to support contracted groups with information on the destination including dining, offsite events, entertainment options, etc.
  2. Manage the distribution of service leads to dining, offsite events, and entertainment partners and ensure timely response to contracted clients.
  3. Maintain tracing/notes in CRM of group services provided to include collateral distribution, microsite development, transportation and dining support, event planning, or additional needs we provided or connected the client to.
  4. Assist Sr. Director of Sales with coordination and executive of events, including working nights/weekends, providing exemplary customer service, and being a good steward of resources.
  5. Assisting prospective meeting planners to assist in hotel needs and other services needed for their meeting or event.
  6. Work in coordination with group tour receptive(s) to assist in hotel needs and other services needed for the motorcoach market.
  7. Maintain product knowledge of hotels, meeting facilities, service providers, attractions, transportation, caterers, dining, and other venues within Clarksville/Montgomery County.
  8. Responsible for ensuring partner information on VisitClarksvilleTN.com is accurate and current.
  9. Work in conjunction with Sr. Director of Marketing and Media for any collateral needed for sales/servicing purposes.
  10. Ensure that TN Welcome Centers as well as Clarksville/Montgomery County partners have current collateral (Visitor Guides, POI brochures, etc.).
  11. Responsible for visiting outlined TN Welcome Centers to provide collateral as well as updates on what is new to Clarksville/Montgomery County
  12. Plan familiarization (FAM) tours as well as site visits as needed/directed by Sr. Director of Sales or Executive Director.
  13. Position does require occasional nights and weekend commitments as well as potentially 1-2 industry-specific conferences/training out of town (typically out of state).
  14. Other duties as assigned by Sr. Director of Sales and/or the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience in tourism, hospitality, and services.
  • Minimum two (2) years of tourism/hospitality sales/service experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Personal vehicle required.

Preferred:

  • CRM database knowledge/skills.
  • Other specialized training, within the tourism/hospitality industry.
  • Large Scale Event planning.

*Exempt employees are not subject to wage & hour laws and therefore not compensated for overtime hours.

 

Salary

Mid-$40s, Commensurate with experience
