3,4,5- 64th Mid-South Jazz Festival
Mabry Concert Hall
The APSU Music Department and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts present the 64th Mid-South Jazz Festival to be held in the Music Mass Communication Building. A culminating concert will be held in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on Sat., April 5 at 7:30 p.m. featuring the Bobby Watson Group.
5- Bobby Watson Group Concert

Bobby Watson sits among the pantheon of present-day jazz greats. Born in Lawrence, Kansas, his career now spans more than four decades. A multi-GRAMMY®-nominated saxophonist, composer, bandleader, educator and producer, Watson trained formally at the University of Miami and then, from 1977-1981, earned his “doctorate” as musical director of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers.

On the opening day of Historic Collinsville, visitors will explore various locations throughout the settlement, offering a glimpse into the daily life of residents in a rural Tennessee community on the day the Civil War began. This new event commemorates the start of the American Civil War on Friday, April 12, 1861, at 4:30 AM, when Confederate forces fired upon Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina
