If you’ve suffered withdrawals from live performances this past year, you aren’t alone! So many months without in-person concerts, musicals and theatre was hard for patrons. But, it was even harder for performers. For most, the arts may be a creative outlet or hobby, a preferred form of entertainment, or maybe even a primary way of engaging socially with friends or family. For performers, the arts are all of that AND their livelihood.
The Roxy Regional Theatre, located right in the heart of the downtown historic district, is Clarksville’s oldest professional theatre. Season 39 is slated to begin September 10 and what a fantastic line-up it is! Kicking off with All Shook Up, a hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.” The cast is a mix of professional actors/musicians with community performers. The season includes 14 mainstage productions plus black box, or alternative and new script, shows.
Ticketholders can enjoy popular musicals and musical reviews, classic theatre, children’s favorites, along with cutting-edge performances. Scroll through below for the season’s performances. Ticket prices vary by type of performance, but all may be purchased in advance online at roxyregionaltheatre.org, by calling the theatre at (931) 645-7699, or visiting the box office Tuesday - Friday from 9a.m.- 2p.m. and one hour before performances.
